This year’s ornament – part of the United States Capitol Historical Society’s continuing collection – features the Capitol Christmas Tree on the lawn of the West Front of the United States Capitol. Lighted annually since 1964 to celebrate the Christmas holiday season, since 1967 the trees come from a different state each year.
The stamped brass ornament depicts the brightly colored and lively tree against the backdrop of a starry winter's night and the Dome of the U.S. Capitol. Measuring 2 3/4 x 3 inches the ornament's frame intricately highlights various elements of the Capitol's Brumidi Corridors.
